IT'S NOT WHAT WE ARE. IT'S WHAT WE DO.

The Hive, Kennebunk: Stage and venue

PERFORMANCES ON OUR STAGE.

We host concerts and performances, children's shows, jam sessions, and more, showcasing diverse styles and gifted musicians from the area and from away.

The Hive, Kennebunk: Gallery

ART IN OUR GALLERY.

We're carefully crafting shows, throughout the year, that highlight the immense artistic talent that exists right in our community. From photography to sculpture to mixed media work, our gallery is a microcosm of the local art landscape.

A COMMUNITY SPACE.

True to the spirit of The Hive, we invite you to partake in free events like Drumbalaya drum circle, open mic nights, and poetry readings. Downstairs, in Studio B, we hold open artistic workshops and free, weekly community gatherings.

STUDIO B      Dedicated to Ruth Beckett's love of the arts

Nestled into The Hive is Studio B, a community studio space complete with printmaking and pottery equipment. We are proud to host interactive workshops, demonstrations, and open studio events.

Join us for free COMMUNITY GATHERINGS every week. Studio B opens its doors each Wednesday night, from 7 to 9 p.m., to anyone interested in working on artistic project or simply socializing. Bring something you're already working on or come and get inspired to start something new. Free and open to all, no artistic experience required.

Check out what's going on now in Studio B, below. Or click here for our full calendar.

Upcoming workshops:

July 22: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Making canvas floor cloths with Christine Burgess
Paint a canvas floor cloth during this one-day workshop. You don’t have to be an artist to paint a beautiful and functional floor cloth. If you can paint a swirl, stamp, or stencil, then you're ready. Class size limited to 8.
Registration fee ($100/$170 for two) guarantees finished product and all necessary materials.

We're planning more workshops this summer, including drawing with John Andrews and encaustic with Pamala Crabb. Want to register for a workshop? Got questions? Interested in teaching? Email us or call (207) 985-0006.

The Hive is happy to offer the use of its space, whether for community gatherings, private functions, or events to support local charities. Our upstairs gallery and venue, with adjacent bar and professional stage, makes a great location for celebrations or larger events. And Studio B, downstairs, is a great spot for smaller meetings or children's birthday parties.

We are proud to support local charities and non-profits, and regularly host fundraising events. And we're pleased to cater events or work with your group to provide live music.
